I’m sure there are ways to do this on desktop, but in mobile, as far as I can tell, if I come across a nsfw community on my thread and I want to block I, I can’t do that without first clicking on the link to the community feed.

You can click on the community link and then click on the hamburger in the upper left, but it’s still at least one click too many.

In case you didn't see the newer comment, you can click "Magazines" at the top, and then search for the magazine, and then block it.

I believe that in 'search' (as opposed to 'magazines') you can also search for entire instances/domains

To be honest, I was happily surprised (stunned really) that I was able to so easily block at the domain level. Especially given how new the platform is, as people have pointed out.

The nature of the fediverse is such that their are instances and domains for just about every topic, so if something isn't your speed then blocking those domains will take a huge chunk off your screen with very minimal effort.
