I watched the first few minutes of this a*nd felt it was just the movie but animated and with worse music. Does it get any better or add anything that's not already in the movie?

I'm gonna be honest with you, I haven't seen the movie and much of what I know is from my girlfriend, so it was a lot more of a new experience for me. The plot does diverge from the movie drastically after the first episode and I enjoyed what the show offered. Do agree on the music bit though, the movie music is iconic
