YSK you can launch Runelite from the official RS launcher and it will keep you logged in like the mobile app. (lemmy.world)

Simply select Runelite from the drop down menu in the official launcher.

If it wasn't a small ritual to get the launcher going under Linux I totally would 😥

Aw, hopefully it becomes easier in the future! I know they have a linux client, but I am on windows so didn't know it could be tricky.

Yeah, the issue is they have a Linux game client, but they don't have a Linux version of their launcher... so you have to use Wine/Proton/some kind of compatibility layer (and you have to do some work to get the files you need to make that happen), but it's even more convoluted than that.
