Why do people replay single players games they've already played before? (alien.top)

I'm talking about those that play the same games 2 or more times. You already know how the game plays and you know how the story goes. Wouldn't you rather spend that time playing a new game? I've only got so much time to play and a I have huge backlog. I never found myself picking an game I've played already over a new one. I'd like to know your thoughts.

For me, old game is old as soon as I've played it. If I haven't collected something in the initial run through, bad luck, I'm not going back, I don't have time. I've done collect-a-thon achievement hunting in the past and I can no longer be bothered.

The only 2 games in the modern era I have replayed are Skyrim (launch & special edition, and no, I'm not going back for anniversary edition) and GTA V (launch & just because I had completely forgotten the story - hint. it was shorter and slightly disappointing to what I remember).
