In Quest 64 your evasion stat was based on the distance your character has moved.
You could wrap the cable around the joystick on the controller and force yourself to run around a tree in a safe area where nothing could spawn. You'd leave it on overnight.
Come back the next day and your chance to be hit was very small, and the area you could move while in battle was massive.
