When I was playing dying light with friend we discovered that every timw you go to sleep and wake up air drop will appear, if you don't know air drops are pretty rare and if you collext them and deliver to one guy you will recieve lots of xp, we used that multiple times to unlock grapling hook very early. Air drops also gave lots of medicine which was hard to get in early game and that very helped us

In Third Age Total War mod (pretty sure it also works for the base game; Medieval 2 Total War)... when playing as Gondor, you are often harassed by the Haradrim, who will send armies at you with tons of cavalry.

Due to the mechanics of the game and AI playstyle, they will batter down the gate and send everyone through it, quite literally trampling your guys to death.

Best way to solve this issue is to place a group of Ithilien Rangers behind the gate and have them deploy stakes, then send them back up the wall.

When the gates break down and their cavalry ties to break through, they will get utterly skewered on the stakes, making pretty much every battle a guaranteed win.
