A few years ago, I spent most of my savings on The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer (Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Winter, and Stars Above; I didn't get Fairest), read them all, and loved them...though I didn't reread them and sold them some time later.

And what was the first series you spent most of your savings on?

Lord of the Rings. Saw the first movie when it came out, found out it was based on books and went straight to the book store after the movie. Turns out every man and his dog wanted to read the first book, so only books 2 and 3 were available. I got them and waited almost 2 months before the first book (in the same style as the other 2 books) was back in stock again. My sister had gotten the brick size version with the 3 books and she never finished the book.
