Surely it would place a massive asterisk on all the trophies won during his time at Man City? In future discussions on the greatest manager would this be a talking point which stains our perception on him? Or will he still be lauded as the greatest by some despite the wider context?

How would it impact his legacy at all?

He’s entire legacy is that he takes the richest team in the league that’s loaded with stars and is extremely successful with them. That is exactly what he did at Bayern and Barcelona.

Just because Man City cheated to be the richest team in the league doesn’t change how we perceive Pep’s performance. We already knew they were the richest team in the league and cheated to get there before Pep joined the club.

Could not agree with this more. Before this whole thing came out everyone just thought the rules were never enforced, not that Man City didn't break them. The only surprise if punishment is handed down is that they actually enforced something.

I don't see how that changes how we feel about Pep. If you thought he was a fraud before, you'll feel vindicated. If you thought he was the greatest manager ever, you'll think that it doesn't matter how he got his players, he made them play amazing.
