Surely it would place a massive asterisk on all the trophies won during his time at Man City? In future discussions on the greatest manager would this be a talking point which stains our perception on him? Or will he still be lauded as the greatest by some despite the wider context?

It would make all his achievements at city null and void. If you can't win within the rules, you are effectively a cheat.

Like Liverpool hacking Man City’s scouting data illegally and then going on to win success.

Glad we can call everyone out for cheating, cheating is cheating and if you can’t play by the rules then your success means nothing.

The league win that we had wrapped up by Christmas doesn't count because a literal deadly force of nature tried (and failed) to stop us?

You mean the season we had amassed enough points, pre-Covid, to win the league? Literally 25 point ahead in February but ours gets called the Covid title. City in 20-21 played in empty stadiums for about 30 games and it barely gets questioned 😂
