online only games

once the servers and player count dies down, the game is unplayable

I can still play Star Wars Battlefront 2 on my PS2 or Xbox with my buddies at my house because it was made for offline

but so many multiplayer games now cant be played a few years after launch because the game is "dead" or the company stopped funding it
