I can’t run an ethernet cable through the walls to an access point, and I’m not going to run it along the wall.

Does it make sense to get a powerline adapter at the router, have the other end in my room, and connect an access point right there? Given that I live in an apt complex i feel like a powerline adapter is a bit silly based on what i’ve heard about them, but i’m not familiar with better options.

Is this stupid? It feels stupid, but I’m kinda fed up with resorting to using my data in my room because the wifi connection is just so bad.

Lots of people badmouth powerline here but if you're on the same circuit or a nearby one they *can* work great.

Buy a pair on Amazon and be sure you can return if they don't work out.
