One of my favorite activities is seeing where a creator applies themselves in their work.

Here are some authors I’ve noticed with self insert characters:

Sarah J Maas: Aelin

Jk Rowling: Hermione

Jane Austen: All the Janes.

Who is your favorite authors self insert character? And how do you know that they are?

Kurt Vonnegut has Killgore Trout, who is basically Kurt as a bitter curmudgeon who writes sci-fi schlock that only a dozen people read. Hilariously those people tend to be the most powerful people on Earth, but it still never leads to any success in his life.
