What game had areas, weapons, moves, etc that you didn't even know existed until you already beat the game or until it was too late?

For me it was Super Metroid on SNES. Apparently there is a bunch of special or secret moves Samus can do to refill her health and such or gain unique abilities such as an ice shield.

I had probably played through the game two or three times as a kid before learning about these.
