I retired as the undefeated video game family champ when my 13-year-old daughter began to surpass in my early 30s. I brutally crushed my kids at every opportunity before then. My reaction times just weren't up to snuff.
Now I'm in my 50s and just don't sweat it - I play for fun at whatever difficulty is challenging and fun and never play competitive multi-player anymore.
Fun fact, that same daughter probably could have competed professionally, but now that she is 31, stated she is simply too old to compete.
