Network outage affecting non-network services on iPhone 15 Pro on 5G/LTE? (alien.top)

Our internet went out yesterday (MetroNet) for the first time in a long time. Oddly when I turned off WiFi and had full/strong signal on 5G, some things still wouldn’t work. Reddit, specifically, but also some other apps I use for financial services.

If/when WiFi works but the underlying internet is unreachable, does something else change on my phone that would prevent cellular data services from functioning at 100%? Some DNS issue, etc?

Edit: I’m posting this from my doctors office internet!

Did you give permission for those apps to use cellular data?
