My SIM Card Was Stolen (alien.top)

I purchased a new iPhone with an eSIM. I wiped my iPhone 13 and sent it in without removing the physical SIM card. I was later notified by Apple that the shipment was stolen. Only the empty box arrived.

My question is this. Can the theft of my SIM card lead to ID theft or hacking?

Not if you reset the phone to stock before returning it
