They KNOW they’re spam calls. They KNOW the uncheckmarked numbers are not valid. So why the hell do they let these calls through? Anyone know?

If you live in the US, your carrier likely offers an app that will prevent spam calls from ringing and spam texts from delivering. It may cost a couple bucks (USD) a month or may be free. AT&T ActiveArmor is absolutely superb at blocking spam calls and texts and I notice the crazy increase in spam every time I turn it off or leave AT&T. The premium version comes free with AT&T Unlimited Premium and AT&T Unlimited Elite (for those that still have it) and is I think a $3.99 /mo add-on for other plans. There is also a free, less robust version, available to users on cheaper plans as well. But to answer your question, carriers already can. It’s your job as a customer to decide if you want to let them.
