Whats the point of these charts?
Obviosly both sides will under-report own and over-report enemies loses.

Would you prefer exaggerated data from both sides or no data? That's the options. I think you get a better estimate of the reality using the first option as a starting point.

I mean thats the thing, you cant get any "estimate of the reality" when the data is fake. We will probably never know the real numbers(at least not anytime soon).

The real issue is that this is used to further encourage the war chearleaders, "look how much ass were kicking", while the reality is that innocent people that didnt ask for this are dying on both sides like flies. And all these fuckers on reddit and now here, that post this crap dont really care for human lives, but just make sure the public opinion keeps being geared towards continuing this madness as long as possible.

If you look historically at how counties have exaggerated their performance in war, you see there is more to it than that. They're rarely if ever totally invented figures during an ongoing conflict, it's much more often both sides manipulating the numbers through a concerted bias in their rounding method. Intentional or not, the goal of reporting to the public is to stave off low moral while setting up realistic expectations for the future however the military intelligence defines 'realistic.'
