General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

The UK's standing in the world is incredibly weak currently

Oh yes I heard that in the guardian too....

Where is the UK in a good position in the world. The US don't want to talk to us, Biden hates Brits. The EU are at the furthest point away they can be. Who exactly do we have strong ties with?

The US don't want to talk to us, Biden hates Brits.

Oh dear oh dear 😂. Ok then 👌.

You like to throw crappy replies, but don't actually add to a conversation. Is there something wrong with you?

No I am saying the statement is very broad. "The US doesn't want to talk to us, Biden hates Brits" is very broad and covers from "the US doesn't want a free trade agreement" to "the US has cut off all ties with the UK". Context matters.

I sincerely hope you understand the irony here.

As I said context matters. One muppet being racist will garner little attention. Stick a bit of Racism in a person like, I dunno, Netanyahu and the whole world takes notice. They are not the same.
