Last week I sent my Apple Watch 5 (SS) to Apple to get the battery replaced for the ~900DKK (~130 USD) fee (I live in Denmark.)

Today, I get a notification saying the battery replacement was denied due to screen issues (https://i.imgur.com/fxwVQkU.jpg)

I could now choose a full screen repair for ~3000 DKK (~430 USD), at which point I might as well buy a brand new watch, so I made the choice to send it back to me, unrepaired.

I called Apple Support to no avail. There's nothing they could do, they thought it was puzzling, no pictures either, they recommended selecting the return option and filming the unpacking.

Now I'm wondering if I'm fucked. Did the watch get damaged in transport, and now I'm on the hook for it when it returns with a smashed screen? The screen was perfect before sending it in.

Had you previously had the screen repaired by a 3rd party service provider?

I've never had it repaired before at all.
