Imo apostrophes arent necessary in informal settings. How many words can still be understood if you leave out the apostrophe?
I dont usually bother with them unless theyre inserted automatically when im dictating or when im typing on my physical keyboard. When im typing out words manually on this bullshit touchscreen keyboard (like right now) i just cant be bothered. Its already too much effort and once again: how necessary are they actually? You tell me.
I may not like it, but I think it's probably the right move. Putting apostrophes in unnecessarily can cause confusion. Leaving them out gives me a minor contextual puzzle that takes a microsecond.
