yeah turns out it's from your instance which makes sense but is also a bit confusing imo. Also excellent 42 is a very meaningful number, although 6 has way more comedy value imo.

yup its the local users only, its 88 on kbin.social and 1,1k on midwest.social.

Hopefully at some point it'll display total users from all instances, maybe in the format 1.1k+88 or something so you can see how popular it is with your home instance.
