I see lots of tension and energy between those two women. If not civilization conditioning they would be at each other throats.
I don't think that's within the power of agriculture and settlement hierarchy to achieve.
If anything the improved nutrition and health of people before "civilization" would have made them much more capable of emotional restraint.
In what sense it is “before” civilization, rather than civilization itself?
