I've finally realized the 500s experienced on fedia dot io can be solved by turning off "Show thumbnails" in the sidebar. Right now loading my subscription page or my own profile just gives a 500, but turning off show thumbnails makes them load without issue. Might not solve all of them, the "People" link still 500s, but at least it's much less when browsing
