First I wish this war was over already. And for Ukraine's sovereign borders to be restored to the original 2014 ones. You are skipping a lot of factors, like offensive actions being more difficult and more costly compared to defending. First example of that bakhmut a couple of months ago. How many Wagnerites lost while going on an offensive? 20k according to chief orc himself https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2023/5/25/wagner-chief-says-20000-of-its-troops-killed-in-bakhmut-battle that's with old school meat grinder kill everyone who retreats tactics. So 20k is a low, low estimate.
I think you are referencing an Asia times article...it's a stretch to say the least. For one not naming these "observers". https://asiatimes.com/2023/06/is-the-ukrainian-offensive-another-kursk/
They mention themselves that there is no resemblance to the battle in terms of armor, artillery, aircraft or manpower. I wonder what is left to compare then.
Ukraine has no air superiority and cannot call in helicopters or airstrikes at the same rate as Russia.
From the article:
"The Nazi attempt to capture and defeat the Soviet forces at Kursk in western Russia was a massive undertaking, one that bears, in terms of armor, artillery, aircraft and manpower, no real resemblance in scale to the battle now raging in the Zaporizhzhya area. But by other measures there is a comparison to be made."
"In the Kursk battle, both sides deployed their air forces. Overall, the Luftwaffe had significant success on the battlefield – but at a very high cost. The Luftwaffe deployed fighters, ground attack aircraft and bombers. "
Wait but they're mentioning aircraft I thought this wasn't a metric to compare the current counter offensive with.
Oh found one, the whole front in zaporizhzhia is mined, true, the one comparison with Kursk.
"In the 1943 Kursk battle, mines also played a big role. But Wehrmacht anti-tank weapons and Panzer tanks were more important, killing Russian tanks in far greater numbers than the Russians could match in their destruction of German tanks."
What an article, it's also the only one I found mentioning "counter offensive ukraine battle of kursk" when I searched on Google on duckduckgo and Kagi.
Not sure what your motivation is, you wished it was going faster? Ukraine is doing fine considering the circumstances*. You wanted to regurgitate some bad article into a low effort Kremlin propaganda message? Why? Your fake tsar Putine just showed the whole world he's a pussy by first claiming he would show everyone how tough he would be to they who stabbed him in the back. Proceeded to fly to st Petersburg bunker and sending his bitch lukashenko to take care of another war criminal. While kadyrovites turned up late but made a TikTok anyways. There's nothing left, the whole world saw that humiliating Putine, did not result in ANY action. He caved, and the tsar became a 🐓
*Circumstances, no air superiority, 4 different tank platforms to maintain, times the amount of ifv platforms and artillery. Something we forget, no navy, less electronic warfare hardware. Being cruise missiled every night, on civilian and military targets. Ammo shortages, as in cannot fire wall of fire amount of shells like the Russians do. No where near the same amount of bodies to throw into the battle.
May I ask, why you think Ukraine should return to the 2014 border and not to the 1991 border? I'm not taking about the feasibility of reaching this, rather if this were possible, why shouldn't Ukraine return to its internationally recognized border?
