It's amazing to see how many communities are joining in on the blackout. It's also sad as fuck all.

I've been agitating, in what limited capacity I can, to make to this happen.

It still hurts....

Myspace came and went.
RIM/Blackberry came and went.
Digg came and went.
They all got taken over by the next best thing after them.

Email has been there the whole time. It's a protocol, the next best thing will simply join the force, not replace it. ActivityPub is another protocol which means the content using it will last longer than the hosts, the data is more fluid and can easily be moved.
