I know Lemmy doesn't come with the ability to follow individual users, but the ability to do so client-side would be really nice.

Of course, this app is amazing as it is, and I'm super excited to follow its development. Thank you Mayayo!

This isn't how Lemmy works, you would see every single comment like following users with mastodon.

While I didn't actually think of that, I'm sure there would have to be a way to filter that out, just as you go to a user's profile and their contributions are sorted as comments/posts already.

What I meant though is more something similar to Boost for Reddit where you could follow a user, then access them from subscriptions in the left tab. I never actually had users posts in my main feed, just followed people I thought posted interesting things. And I know this isn't Mastodon, but I think it would be nice to have the same thing here, even if Lemmy doesn't support it. I'll see someone that posts interesting content, but then I'll forget their username an hour later and won't be able to find them again.

You see every single comment when you follow communities too, this is how lemmy works
