General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

It's a company that provides software for the entire NHS. Of course it's going to get money, it's providing an important service. https://tpp-uk.com/

Complete non-story.

Bullshit.

They are a contractor assigned to the NHS through procurement. Procurement that is set up by the economic control committees within the NHS. These committees have had private contractors imposed on them by political interference. When you have private companies involved in the procurement process, obviously they are going to use it to make money. The donation is to make sure that corruption continues.

You're right. The NHS should be making their own computer software. Lazy bastards.

If you are being sarcastic then it is poorly placed. Programmers and support can work for government in much the same fashion as the private sector. For £137m we can get a lot of support.

There you go intentionally missing the point again.

It's providing a vital service to the NHS. If it helps them, I literally don't give a fuck.

There are so many legitimate criticisms of the useless party in government and yet for some reason, people want to make up issues. 🤷

Besides, let's not pretend this is a party specific thing: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2004/aug/24/partyfunding.uk

I think you're missing the point here. They donated to the Tories and this article is published in Left Foot Forward. What more "proof" do you need?
