Had an MRI this morning, first time. I knew it was going to be an uncomfortable experience but I wasn't expecting to feel completely stoned afterwards. Had to sit in the car for 20 minutes before I felt capable of driving home and even now I still feel a bit spacey. Might have a nap.

Thanks, should find out within 48 hours. Alarmingly one of the checks the referring neurologist requested was to see if I'd had a stroke :0/

No, wasn't even offered as an option!

When I had my shoulder done a few years ago the sound was incredible.

Yeah it was intense

Jaysus, didn't they tell you to have someone come pick you up or drive you home? Not very responsible of the MRI provider I think. And bloody dangerous if you are going to be driving.

They didn't suggest it, I suppose because I wasn't going to be medicated

Had one on my head when I had chronic migraines. Felt wack af after too.

On the other hand, I had one done on my ankle and was okay after. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Did they identify a cause of the migraines? It was my head and neck, took about 20mins

Nothing in my head; theory is that the migraines were caused by psychological stress (was with my abusive ex at the time, and mum was just diagnosed with schizophrenia and refusing meds). My MRI and CAT scan were both clear, and the migraines cleared up when I left ex and mum haha

MRIs are so cool tbh, but I always freak out a little and ask the nurses if I've taken out all my piercings in case I missed one haha

Well that's great news that they cleared up.
Re: metal...one of the questions asked if I was aware of having any bullets lodged in me! lol
