TL;DR: Does a special day to share International Hip Hop and a weekly "Book Club" sort of thing for albums sound like a good idea? Do you have any other ideas?

Long Version: I wanted to come up with some weekly stuff we could do to help get interesting content here. Nothing that would stop or discourage anybody from posting whatever they would want as normal, but to motivate people to post stuff we might not see otherwise.

I only have a couple ideas I really like

[WORLDWIDE] Wednesday. As we found out from the survey thread, we have a pretty strong European delegation (6/22 respondents were from the EU). I'd love to hear more Hip Hop from outside of the US! Having a day where people are encouraged to post their international Hip Hop I think would be great. We are an English speaking group, but foreign language songs would be welcome and encouraged, along with English songs from artists outside the US. I personally have a decent bit of German Hip Hop put away that I don't normally but I'd love to hear all sorts of stuff personally.

Second would be a weekly album discussion thread. Each week we would pick a different album and the next week we would talk about it. Think like a book club. Would probably be a mix of classic albums and more recent (but less popular) albums. The purpose would be to help introduce people to things they may not have heard, either because it was before their time or because it isn't a huge artist. For our older heads in here, it could be a chance to discuss an old classic album you haven't given a listen in a while. Not sure how the albums would be picked. My first thought was to have a separate thread where people post ideas and vote, but our population is pretty small currently and I think there is the risk of the same kind of stuff getting chosen every time. Ideas welcome.

Anybody else have anything they think could be fun weekly? I don't want something for every day of the week, but something for 2 or 3 different days I think could be fun. And let me know what you think about [WORLDWIDE] Wednesdays. If nobody else has any interest in international stuff I can always set up a different community aimed at that specifically, instead of putting it in here.

Really like the worldwide Wednesday idea.
