Bugs are technically crustaceans, because phylogenetics is fucked up.
I'm not sure why that would be.
Generally bugs is a colloquial name and has no specific meaning in taxonomy.
Unless you mean "true bugs" from the order Hemiptera, which are definitely insects.
All hexapods are considered crustaceans.
mh ... from my understanding "crustacean" are in the phylum "Crustacea", which doesn't include hexapods. You're thinking of the clade "Pancrustacea".
Iβm talking about phylogeny, not taxonomy.

Each node on a phylogenetic tree is a taxonomic unit. You can't really talk about one without the other.
