We won't have to. Nearly all, if not fully all "red states" receive more in federal funding than they pay in taxes. If they were to secede their econonomies would crash in short order. It would be like Brexit times 10.

That's why it will never happen. Their politicians know this full well. They aren't that stupid. Them saying otherwise is for their base to eat up.

Texas barely makes enough to keep from being a Republican welfare state. It's the only one to do so, IIRC.
