... to post race threads & result threads for at least all WT-races. Does anyone have the skills to run a bot like this?

I often want to throw a quick comment as a race is going on, but creating a race thread or a result thread is a LOT of work and it keeps me from engaging.

I think this is what we need to make this community grow.

I probably have the skills, but not sure I have the time. I'll see what I can do if no-one gets there first.

I'm a bit wary that too many auto-gen'd threads that don't get engaged with would be bad. Maybe starting with one thread per stage for grand tours and one per race for other World Tour races.

I can have a pop at this if you're short on time. That sounds like a sensible place to start with post quantity.

Go for it. I'm aware of https://github.com/baronet2/FirstCyclingAPI, https://github.com/josselingirault/procyclingstats.com-webscraper/, https://github.com/themm1/procyclingstats that might help.

A good first step might be to get a bot that posts scheduled posts, even if all the data that goes into the posts is manually entered (e.g. all stages in one go at the start of the race).

Ah nice, thanks, I'll have a gander through those. Yeah I was thinking just to get a bot up and running to simply posts threads to begin with, then I can look to integrate with calenders, post stats etc.

Sure, that sounds awesome 🙂 where're you going to scrape data from? Does PCS or FirstCycling have an API to hook into?
