Medieval history lovers will feel at home while visiting the small church in the village of Capel, in Tonbridge. Listed as a Grade I building by the National Heritage, St Thomas à Becket Church provides a ‘peaceful haven’ for residents and visitors alike.

This church, dedicated to the Kentish saint, Thomas à Becket and located only four miles east of Tonbridge, is widely known for its extensive medieval wall paintings dating back to the 13th century. The paintings depict Biblical stories including Cain and Abel, the Last Supper, and the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.

Very nice. Being from Up North, Kent is a bit far to go to visit churches but if I am ever down that way for other reasons (some of my family passed through Kent, I don't think any are buried there but I might need to check my notes)...

edit: ah my gg-grandparents are buried somewhere in Kent (I presume - they died there).
