I can’t be the only one here who still listens to NPR
I mostly stopped when they had a war in Afghanistan apologist on around the time of Biden's withdrawal and asked him only softball questions. When I do, I think very critically of the narratives they are bolstering.
Oh yeah same, everything said is taken with a grain of salt.
I spend a lot of time driving so I get a little NPR, some BBC NewsHour, some right wing talk radio.
you're definitely not it is the default station on my car & usually I will be too lazy to plug in my phone (if I'm like, driving 2 miles to the store) so I will often rage-listen to whatever the fuck is playing. S/O The Moth, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, Reveal, and It's Been A Minute for being like, the only normal programs. My local station does LatinoUSA which is also nice to catch randomly cause usually its on some topic my biracial non-hispanic ass has never heard about. I also get to hear BBC anytime past 10pm so it's always nice being high as shit going to McDonalds and hearing some British fucker just be dismissive as hell to the African/Asian journalist they have on talking about whatever's going on in like Kenya or China; because at least then I get to go "wow at least I'm not being fed British news 24/7".
Death to Morning Edition, The Middle, Left, Right and Center, and Marketplace.
Oh yeah Reveal has actually done some pretty hard hitting stuff critical of policing and healthcare infrastructures
Even when I was a lib, it was too lib for me
Man, radiolab is pretty good
I’ve been liking It’s Been a Minute, pretty good not-too-serious discussion of pop culture
used to be good when Jad & Robert were hosting (i listened to so much radiolab back in HS but thankfully I stopped being such a podcast freak...) but every newer episode I've caught on the radio has been either middling or just
thinking about the one from September that I heard and was getting irate at in traffic & actually had to switch to my aux because I was like "why the fuck is this an entire episode this guy needs to be locked up"
I do too occasionally, its the best I can find on the radio and sometimes I don't want to mess around with spotifly for a podcast. I actually really like their show "Throughliine." I just know how many libs love NPR so its good for the bit.
