On Anime

While Anime is a beloved animation style with a rich history and extensive following, our focus here leans towards other forms of animation. This is due to the immense popularity of Anime in online spaces, which is amply covered by other dedicated communities.

This doesn't mean that Anime related conversation is not allowed here, only that it's not our focus. For a dedicated Anime instance, check out ani.social.

On Technical Discussion

While our primary goal is to discuss animated media, conversations about animation techniques and the process of creating animation are also welcome. Whether you're a budding animator seeking to understand more about the industry, or a seasoned professional sharing your experiences, you're welcome here.

At this point Netflix shows are like Google products.

Don't use them. Don't get into it. You'll only be disappointed when it gets cancelled prematurely even though it was really good. If it makes it to season 3, then consider giving it a go.

edit: which of course creates a death spiral where people avoid watching things because they know it's likely to get cancelled, which means things are more likely to be cancelled, which leads to even more people deciding not to get invested prematurely. We're already seeing it happen to Google with things like Stadia failing, some have claimed, because people have become wary of Google's tendency to cancel products and so it didn't get the user share to warrant continuing.

I wonder how hard of a hit they are going to take when the Series finale for "Stranger Things" finally drops, and a good chunk of people drop their subscriptions since that's all they were waiting for ....
