Sorry, it was 15 minutes away from midnight so I waited and then got sidetracked.

I posted the thread early so wait and then check if there isn't one already

Are we ever gonna fix the bot? Again saying, super happy to help.

Replying to myself but @Nath@aussie.zone lemme know if you need support. Game for any lang or stack.

I feel like Zapier or IFTT could easily do it, no need to write anything fancy. Do they still have free tiers?

[โ€“] indisin@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago

It would take nothing fancy to write this on AWS or Azure in the free tiers. It's a few lines of code and be more testable and easy to control and maintain IMO. But open to those suggestions.

There are a bunch of Lemmy bots on git. I haven't played with any of them. @Deatcat wrote the code for Brisbot. It makes their daily threads neatly. Deadcat hasn't been around for ages, though.

Not doing a code review here despite having feedback. A child could write and support that (said the former child dev).

GAhhHhh, platform of choice? Language of choice? Cloud based or my private local cloud? Does anyone even care about this? I'm happy just playing computer games and hacking away at my stuff.

I recall you are using iPhone? Can just say to siri "set timer for 12am" and it'll set a timer (not alarm).

[โ€“] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 2 points 2 days ago

I could have set a timer yeah. I just wasnโ€™t sure if I was def on DT duty or not
