Completely brand new to the monster Hunter series, but this game has me extremely intrigued. And the general interest around the whole series seems really awesome. Picked up Monster Hunter Worlds because of all hype for Wilds. I like it but damn do they info dump on you, these tutorials are overwhelming in number.
Know that they are always accessible later if you want to go back to them later. The most frustrating thing about them, imho, is that they range from covering important stuff to stuff that the game has already told you ten times.
The constant tutorials can be overwhelming, yeah. Just know, the game is (usually) many layers, and you can still have a blast ignoring the basic tutorials and just turning your brain off and smashing stuff, or you can focus up and hit the lab to really refine how you use a particular weapon or practice strategies against a specific monster, kinda like a fighting game.
I’m just happy there are tutorials now! I started on the first PSP game and it was soooo very confusing to learn back in those crunchy old games.
Definitely watch some videos or something on the combat and get ready to get frustrated! lol be cautious and watch the monsters for "tells." They will make specific movements before doing specific moves, and some monsters will have set number of attacks in a move, stuff like a nargacuga will jump 3 times. Anjanath will more than likely be the first real "wall" as he hits hard for what armor you have.
It's very satisfying when you come to learn the monster enough that you know your openings and how long you need. Getting stuck in an animation is painful lol
Good luck!
It literally took me months to get through the character creator in MH World. Even that was so dense that I would get bored before finishing.
I think it's probably safe to say that they're not games for ADHD individuals.
