When this soap was re-released a few years ago there were some complaints about scent strength. As a result, he re-re-released it with more frag in it. This tub is from before the re-re-release. It's certainly on the lighter side, but I can still smell it.
Then of course he re-re-re-released it under the new name "Indigo" as a result of a cease and desist from https://moodindigoliving.com/.
I think the name change was a good idea. The fragrance is better served by an association the color than the Duke Ellington jazz tune. Especially because the marketing talked about the feeling of leaving a blues club.
I think it does a good job of the "leaving the jazz club" vibe. I don't think it's trying to imitate it (there isn't really a smell to jazz clubs, except maybe cigarettes outside?), just trying to capture the feeling.
Indigo Mood would have been another good rename, but this came out shortly after Mood Indigo.
Thatβs such a cheeky response to a cease and desist over the previous name. I love it
Never knew that this was the reason for the name change - thanks for including that small tidbit of knowledge!
