I was driving North on a long mostly straight road with nearly no other cars on the road. Up ahead around a bend, another car comes in the other lane driving South, way too fast no less.
When the other car was probably like 50 feet in front of me, their hood flew open and immediately broke the hinges and went flying in the air. It probably flew like 50 feet high, peaking out right over my car and landing like 50 feet behind me.
I was kinda scared, but there was an extra wide shallow ditch off to the right, I would have ended up driving off the road into the ditch if I thought it was gonna hit me, but luckily I drove right under the flying hood at it's peak in the air.
I bet it scared the other driver shitless LOL! Glad nobody was hurt, hopefully in the future they make damn sure their hood is properly latched, and they really should chill out on the speeding.
