I genuinely do not understand this lib talking point of "a vote is not an endorsement." It literally is! What, it doesn't count as supporting them if you feel bad when you do it?? Politicians could not give less of a shit.
These geniuses just completely destroyed any capacity they might have to make credible threats in the future, and proved that anyone treating them as unserious was correct.

although not all native English speakers are consistent on this of course, and I understood what you meant, in this situation you may want to use "lend" for 借. a mnemonic that might help is "borrow from, lend to"— a sort of checksum for this mnemonic is that the words are in alphabetical order.
