They appear to be really getting on board with the old baked beans, I can only assume this was a targeted attack designed to spread our tomatoiest cultural export on the Americans' independence day

According to Wikipedia yes, though an even bigger shock is the line "Canned baked beans are not baked, but are cooked through a steam process". I don't know what to believe anymore!
