This can go so wrong. What exactly are we going do with them if successful? After all we killing off species left and right and destroying the planet.
Bringing them back just shove in cages or worse sure someone thinking about eating one. No reason to do this other then to see if we can I guess.
It's not for show, it's a climate change positive. The idea is to bring them back to stomp down carbon back into the earth like they used to. A tldr.
At one point it was being said to have them roam the tundra. Something with them stomping the ground would help prevent the release of pathogens from the defrosting permafrost.
The species matters not. Point taken on cages, but that's the same as any other ranched creature.
Like, a neo mammoth wouldn't know its any different than anything else.
