What is a “living computer” and why is(was) there a museum about them?

The 'living' part was all about the computers actually being in working order. I sat down in front of a Xerox Alto there and just played around with it. It was a really cool place. I will never ever ever forgive Paul Allen's estate for closing it down post-pandemic. That and the Cinerama both. At least SIFF took that over, though.

Ah. This makes sense.

Cool.

Too bad it closed.

It's just a name. It was Paul Allen's museum of vintage computers that got shut down.
