So this series is a TV turned into a monitor? Would that mean they have all that "smart" junk removed? Now that would be nice!

Unfortunately not. The trend from manufacturers is to add smart tv features to pc monitors. For reasons I can’t fathom, tech reviewers seem to like the idea, so shitty Samsung and lg monitors are getting hyped a lot more.

LG strictly markets this as a smart TV. RTINGS is testing it for "off label" use in this review. So design decisions for this series are not made with use as a monitor in mind.
