On Anime

While Anime is a beloved animation style with a rich history and extensive following, our focus here leans towards other forms of animation. This is due to the immense popularity of Anime in online spaces, which is amply covered by other dedicated communities.

This doesn't mean that Anime related conversation is not allowed here, only that it's not our focus. For a dedicated Anime instance, check out ani.social.

On Technical Discussion

While our primary goal is to discuss animated media, conversations about animation techniques and the process of creating animation are also welcome. Whether you're a budding animator seeking to understand more about the industry, or a seasoned professional sharing your experiences, you're welcome here.

Very sad.

Please, get into the habit of seeing your doctor once a year for an annual checkup. No one is too young to get sick.

Unfortunately seeing a doctor is so expensive in the US most people won't just because they can't afford treatment.

Mammograms aren’t required yearly until after 45. She may have just started them…

Edit: This is a good time to remind people with breasts that you should be doing self-checks.

And even if she'd been having them regularly, that may not have caught it. My mum was 52, she'd just had her screening, and a month after that she got another scan because of blurred vision, slurring words, and headaches. There was a new shadow, it was brain cancer metastasised from the breast cancer she already got removed, and six months later I was spreading her ashes by the lake.

Edit: Thanks for the kind words ❤️ Also, for anyone who needs to hear it: "people with breasts" includes men, even if it's rarer, so if you have a family history of breast cancer go get checked regardless of your sex or gender.

Oh, that is frightening and so sad. I’m sorry for your loss. Fuck cancer!

My condolences.

In Denmark, the doctor don't want to give you an annual checkup if you are young (ie younger than 50 something) or you have a reason, for instance symptoms.
