Think I have lost the ability to comment on other instances (self.feddituk)

Anyone else? My comments seem to just sit there and the circle icon keeps spinning but the comment never applies. Happened on various sublemmys across a few instances now so wanted to ask if anyone else experiencing the same.

Seems fine locally

Update: setting my profile settings to English has fixed the issue for me

If posting via the desktop or mobile webpage, I think you need to select English in the language drop down under the text box. I was having the same issue with my comments hanging but after selecting English they went fine. Within Jeroba I don't know, sorry.

This is it! I didn't spot that "select language" box there, I thought you meant the one in user settings. Thank you!

Ok, odd, for a previous post I wrote on Lemmy.world I can still comment just fine on that too

Thanks for this! Wonder if there's a way to make it default to something rather than having to select a language each time. Edit: If I select English on this instance, it doesn't post... I have to leave it unselected.
