What the fuck is a reserve officer? Like a military reservist but for cops?

Yeah, seems like it, people who volunteer to be cops on the weekends and stuff. Shaq is promoting them on the website hesitation-2

From the article pictured in the OP:

The reserves have gone through the Police Academy just like regular officers, and can "perform the same functions as regular, full-time officers”

Don't worry, they go through the same rigorous training as regular cops, so everything's fine.
