You are conflating normal with acceptable.
Death threats are normal on the Internet. People's lives are constantly threatened on the Internet.
It's not acceptable. It should be stopped, but currently there is no real enforcement, and no way to stop them. Acting shocked isn't going to stop them.
I don't think I've ever received one, so it's not normal because you've received one a month.
I don't regularly receive death threats, either.
This person might want to evaluate how they carry themselves.
If we cover our ears and ignore it, then nothing will ever stop them.
When this kind of online harassment goes unchecked, it can often lead to tragic real-world consequences.
