It's a bit of an apples and oranges situation but considering the history I'm curious which one people prefer in a situation where you could only have one. I believe 2006 is still considered abandonware with it previously being listed on Steam but being removed when they ran out of keys.

I liked 2017's gameplay but I felt like 2006 was more memorable and unique so I think I'd choose it.

Damn, how is the Prey 2017 version one of my all time favorites but I didn't know there was a 2006 Prey game.

They are completely unrelated. They just had a really cool name they didn't want to lose.

It probably doesn't help that it's abandonware and was limited largely to the PC and Xbox 360.

A lot of people only hear about it in "top abandonware games" lists that would mention it and games like Alpha Protocol which was recently relisted.
